Practically Tasting

This ain't your average beer tasting tasting experience. It's so much better.

Yes, there will be beer. Yes, we will taste it. But, with a Certified Cicerone/BJCP Beer Judge as your guide, we will dive into learning all the skills needed to get the most out of every brew. (And maybe impress your friends all your new beer knowledge.)We’ll dive into the sensory elements of beer—aroma, appearance, taste, mouthfeel, and overall flavor—using a new beer each time to fully illustrate each component. Because the best way to learn about beer is to drink it!Our first sensory element is aroma. With beer in hand, we’ll sniff-out new techniques that allow us to access memories brought to us by the things we smell. Learn to follow this memory towards vocabulary of what you’re actually smelling/experiencing. Don’t worry, it takes practice to think of words that connect to what you’re experiencing. Before you know it you’ll have SAT beer vocabulary.Moving along to the next sensory elements (appearance, taste, mouthfeel, and overall flavor) we will learn how/why beers look and feel the way they do: brewing basics and ingredients, as well as history and style development. Learn to drink and drink to drink to learn!
